Andy Timmons Mark Five: 25™ "Lucy" Playthrough
Andy Timmons made his first visit to the Mesa® factory in Petaluma last week after a warm-up tour date in the San Francisco Bay Area in support of a soon-to-be-released Protocol III album with drummer Simon Philips. After an extensive tour of the Mesa factory during the day, Andy played through some amps (new and old) and the Mark Five: 25™ was at the top of the list. For this play through, Andy performed his take on the Beatles “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” from his 2011 release Andy Timmons Band Plays Sgt. Pepper.
Andy played his Ibanez Signature AT guitar with DiMarzio pickups through the C+ mode of Ch. 2 into a 2x12 Rectifier Cabinet loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s. He used his Strymon Timeline Delay in the loop of the Mark Five: 25 set to Dual Delay Mode with 500ms and 375ms on each side and an expression pedal from the Timeline to control echo volume. He also rolled his guitar volume up and down for clean and overdriven sounds.
