Video: Soundgarden & Ben Shepherd Mesa Carbine™ Bass Rig
Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd has flown the Mesa/Boogie® bass flag for many years. Throughout runs with their biggest album and tour successes in the 90s, Ben used 2x15s, 8x10s and Bass 400+ heads. For the Soundgarden tour in 2011, Ben found his tone with the new M6 Carbine and the one-and-only Powerhouse 1200 cab. Their 2011 tour brought them to San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium and Mesa had a chance to check out Ben's latest rig and pedal setup.
Nate Yaccino is the bass tech for Ben Shepherd and here's the signal chain on the powerful bass sound they achieved for this run.
Bass > Wireless > Boss TU-2 Tuner > Splitter {One side goes directly into the M6 Carbine and Powerhouse® 1200 cabinet for his primary clean bass tone. The other side of the split serves as his dirty rig through the Ampeg rig} > Mesa/Boogie V-Twin Pedal > Ampeg SVT > Ampeg 8x10 - Ampeg FX Send > Noise Supressor > Compressor > FX Return

Mesa would like to thank Ben Shepherd and Soundgarden for the many years of amazing representation of Mesa products and for using Mesa’s bass gear to create some of the best rock bass sounds around.
