Russo Music began on the sun porch of Stephen and Lucy Russo's Broad Street, Trenton NJ home in 1960. As the small lesson and used instrument business grew, it began to take over the house. Eventually the operation moved to Arena Drive in Hamilton NJ where it still is today. In 2010 we opened our business in Asbury Park, NJ which moved to its current location in 2013. We specialize in legacy brand instruments such as Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, MESA/Boogie, Martin, Taylor to name a few. Our shop has hundreds of new, limited edition, custom, used and vintage guitars, effects, amps, drums, synths and tons more.
Shop Vibe
Asbury Park is the newer of our two stores and is the first floor of a 2 building musical complex which features a lesson academy, rehearsal rooms, world class recording studios and over a dozen other musical and creative businesses. We have a tight team of active musicians working together to provide the best environment for fellow gear nerds to feel comfortable. Our space is old and new, a combination of raw steel and old pine, with 4000 sqft of instruments and an open repair shop. We are 100% humidity controlled year round to provide the best possible environment for our equipment.
Clientele
Our clientele ranges from first timers to full-time working musicians to celebrity professionals and everything in between. Everyone gets treated the same down here. We generally prefer to not kiss and tell, but Mr. Bernie Williams did scoop up a nice Mark 5:35 Combo from us last year!
Industry Trends
The trend we're noticing is that everything is a trend now! Since music is so available and so fractured by genre and sub-genre, there is an audience for everything and they're thirsty. High gain multi channel amps, and single channel clean pedal canvas' are both popular in our shop. Vintage inspired Strat's, Tele's and Les Paul's are just as sought after as 7 string floyd rose shred machines.
