Monuments John Browne & Adam Swan "Origin of Escape" Playthrough with Mark V™ and Strategy™ Eight:88™
Monuments' guitarist John Browne and bassist Adam Swan played the final show of their 2014 Abstract Reality Tour in San Francisco, CA with Animals as Leaders and the Devin Townsend Band. Tucked away in the halls of the Regency Ballroom’s walls is San Francisco’s original Masonic Lodge performance theatre where John and Adam agreed to do a play through of their song “Origin of Escape” from their 2014 release The Amaneunsis.
Adam Swan is playing an Aristides 050 Aluminum Bass into the MESA® Bass Strategy™ Eight:88™ head with a Traditional Powerhouse® 6x10 Cabinet. John Browne is playing a Mayones 8 string Regius guitar into the Xtreme Mode on Channel 3 of a Mark V head into a 2x12 Rectifier® Cabinet loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s.
This video is a great example of how well the Mark V can provide extended range guitars with tightness, detail and clarity in the lows while providing the heavy harmonic layering needed for higher gain sounds in modern, progressive metal styles. Make note of the EQ settings which are set to control bass response while the Gain & Mids are reflective of proper dialing in the Mark V for extended range guitars & riffs.
Guitar recorded with: Shure SM57 and a Shure KSM 313 Ribbon Mic.
Bassist Adam 'Swanny' Swan is playing through the MESA® Strategy™ Eight:88™ with a Powerhouse® Traditional 6x10 Cab and was looking for a tight & bright, modern bass tone to compliment His Aristides Aluminum body bass. Check out the Master setting barely turned up... and he was still the loudest thing in the room. :D
Bass recorded with: Sennheiser 421 mic blended with the DI Ouptut of the Strategy set to the POST position.
Mixed by John Browne.
