About Luico
Luico Hopper (pronounced" Lou-e-co) grew up in Virginia to a musical family. After college, he moved to New York City to follow his dream of becoming a professional musician. Over several decades, Luico compiled an extensive discography while touring and recording with an elite corp of global artists in R&B, Rock and Jazz. Luico recorded and toured with Earl Klugh, Diana Ross, Bryan Ferry, Luther Vandross, Johnny Gill, Gil Evans, and Stephanie Mills to name a few.
Over the course of his distinguished career of touring and recording, Luico who plays both electric and acoustic bass, became one of New York City’s most sought-after musicians. He played on numerous radio and television commercials and for some of the most popular hit shows on Broadway including; The Lion King, Motown the Musical, Shrek the Musical, Dreamgirls and Bring In ‘Da Noise Bring In ‘Da Funk. Luico has also produced three solo albums. On his most recent release Symbiotic Souls, listeners experience a wide array of musical styles ranging from contemporary jazz and R&B to funk and gospel. The album features some of NYC’s finest musicians and is a testament to Luico’s dream of becoming the musician he was meant to be.
